Hello everyone. I have some news about the Heart of Gold adoptables I've been giving out. I think that Heart of Gold adoptables are important - they recognise your generosity and remind us all to be kind to one another. But I intended them to be gifts for you - not objects of commerce. Selling adoptables for currency when you could give them away to a loving home through the Lost and Found? Horrible!

I've consulted with some of the other tent owners around the Carnival and I've convinced them to make a couple of changes. I told all the tents where you can trade or sell adoptables about the joy and beauty of a cute little critter finding a new forever home, and that convinced them to stop accepting heart of gold adopts for trade. Yes, Heart of Gold adoptables are now untradable.

I've also observed some people working with friends to adopt critters that they put in the Lost and Found so they can get them back. This is very odd behaviour - if you wanted your adoptable so badly, why did you abandon it? I feel so sorry for these critters - abandoned, thinking they'll never see you again, only to be reunited via a third party. Again, horrible! I've implemented a new induction process at the Lost and Found so we can give these beautiful critters some reassurance about their future. This does unfortunately mean that new arrivals are not immediately available for adoption. This process can take anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours, so if you give us one of your adoptables to look after, don't worry when it doesn't appear straight away - it will be there in due course!

Do they actually get deleted or do they go to Anonymous?

I don't know about you guys, but now when I look in the Lost and Found, I think about trying to save adoptables from deletion. It doesn't feel like something I should have to think about, yet I am?

Is it just me or does the Lost and Found actually sound like a cruel fate for adoptables? I mean, if no one adopts you in time, you get deleted. There's also a higher cooldown and (maybe) higher prices now, so getting deleted is all the more likely than it was before.

I don't really go on here anymore, but it doesn't surprise me it would happen. I'm not big on original or one with a filter over it, so this doesn't affect me if I want to make a gold bug army someday.

Disappointing that this change had to happen, but I am very grateful that it did. Grateful that there will no longer be exploitation of the feature, solely the original intent, generosity.

Oh I understand the mechanics, I was just being a little silly about the lore aspect of this post and pointing out the minor contradiction of Alder's wording. XD

Not a fan of untradable heart of gold adopts as this completely ruins part two of the heart of gold giveaways I used to do where whoever chose the adopt I pounded would get the gold one. Otherwise, I am fine with this change and completely understand why it happened.

It's a shame to see them untradeable, but I'm happy to see the abuse being curbed ^_^.

Minty, the giving of adopts to the L&F is fine, but selling them and retrieving them for personal gain was not. Hope that clears it up!

I very much like this, some people were definitely abusing it before. I might get into them now. Thanks for the update :)

Wait so is giving the adopts to the Lost and Found an act of kindness, or horribly cruel? I'm getting some conflicted signals here, Alder. XD
